Bengal Tour Packages

Day 01 : Kolkata

Arrival Kolkata and then transfer to Hotel.
Half day sight seeing of city tour – Kali Temple of Kalighat, Mother Teressa (if interested), Birla Temple, Victoria Memorial and Down Town area, St. Pauls Cathedral, St. Johns’ Church.
Overnight at Kolkata.
Day 02 : Kolkata

Full day city sight seeing of Kolkata. Morning Visit the flower market and the Howrah bridge. Writers’ building and the Governor’s house. Visit to Kumartooli to see how typical Bengal Potteri are made, Then visit a Bengali sweet making Centre, Jorasanko (Rabindranath Tagore’s House), Marble Palace, Collage Street, Kolkata University, Indian Museum.

Overnight at Kolkata.

Day 03 : Kolkata – Sunderban
Drive to Basanti. Board the boat for the Sundarban Forest Lodge.
Cruise & see the different Island at Sundarban.
Overnight at West Bengal Tourist Lodge.
Day 04 : Sunderban

Morning cruise & visit lots of birds. Return to Kolkata in the evening.
Overnight at Kolkata.
Day 05 : Kolkata – Vishnupur

Drive to the Terracota Town – Vishnupur, enroute visit Jayrambati, Kamarpukur (Native of Ramakrishna). At Vishnupur Visit these temples are full of old palaces, Baluchori Silk weaving Centre, Conchshell work center, Dasavatar Playing card making Centre which is a typical centre for traditional play card making. Lunch at Vishnupur Tourist Lodge. Later proceed to Panchmura village for Terracota work centre.

Vishnupur :The old capital of Malla kings (from the 8th Centuries) is famous for Terracotta Temples -The Typical Village Hut style of Bengal Temple Arcitecture. Some of the important Temples are Jor-Bangla, Shyamrai, Rashmancha are full of exquisite terracotta panels.

Day 06 : Vishnupur - Shantiniketan

Visit to Shantiniketan enroute visit Kenduli & Joydev. At Shantiniketan visit Vishwa Bharati University, Kalabavan & Museum, later visit Shantal (Tribal) village to enjoy the Shantal musical Dance performance & Baul (Balad Singer of Bengal ) song and Dance performance at the Baul village. Shantiniketan “ The abode of Peace” , an Open Air School in harmony with nature founded by Noble Laureate Poet Rabindranath Tagore’s father Shri Debendra Nath Tagore, later which was promoted by Rabindranath Tagore and presently known as Vishwa Bharati University. Rabindra Bhawan - a Museum of Tagore Memorabilia, Uttarayan - a complex of five houses in different architechtural style, Sriniketan – a rural development center added more attraction. Shantiniketan is also the home of another Noble Laureate Economist Prof. Amartya Sen.

Day 07 : Shantiniketan – Berhampur (Murshidabad)

Leave the lodge intime and drive to Murshidabad . Sight seeing of Murshidabad.
Murshidabad : The Old Capital of Bengal is intimately related to event that ultimately changed the history of India after the War of Plassey in 1757. rich in Historical relics like Hazariduari Palace, Katra Mosque, Imambara etc are worth visit.

Overnight at Berhampur.
Day 08 : Berhampur – Malda

Morning after breakfast drive to Malda, Once known as English Bazar. Visit of Gaur famous for Dakhil Darwaza, Lukochuri Darwaza, Barasona Mosque, Loton Mosque & many more sites. Gaur has typical mixure of Buddhist, Hindu, Islamic & Bengal Architecture, developed during early Eslamic Period of Bengal 14th to 15th Century. Few Architecture remains are of 09th to 10th Century of Pala Period.

Visit of Pandua, famous for Typical Islamic & Buddhist Architecture. The most important site of Pandua is Adina Mosque.
Overnight at Malda.
Day 09 : Malda – Siliguri – Jaldapara (drive about 05hrs./ 175kms.)

Drive to Siliguri to visit Monastic Architectural Places. Drive to Jaldapar. Overnight at Jaldapara.
Jaldapara Wild Life Sanctuary situated in Alipurduar Sub-Division of Jalpaiguri District in West Bengal is about 124 km from Siliguri. This sanctuary was constituted in the year 1941 for the protection of Wild Life, particularly one-horned rhinos, an animal threatened with extinction.
River Toorsa runs through the Sanctuary. The forest is mainly savannah covered with tall elephant grasses. The wild life, in addition to one-horned rhinos, consists of Royal Bengal Tigers, wild elephants, deers, sambhar, barking deer, spotted deer and hog deer, wild pig, bisons and a number of birds, peafowls. Elephant ride is arranged for viewing of wild life preferably at dawn Nestled in the heart of the picturesque Dooars, is the habitat of the rare one-horned rhinoceros, the mighty bison, the spotted deer, the barking deer, huge tuskers, fearsome wild boars and a variety of birds and animals. Elephant safaris can be enjoyed at the Sanctuary

Day 10 : Jaldapara.

Early morning visit wild life Sanctuary . overnight at Jaldapara .
Day 11 : Jaldapara – Coochbehar (drive about 02 hrs./75kms.)

Morning after breakfast drive to Coochbehar arrive Coochbehar check-in Hotel evening free & overnight at Hotel.
Day 12 : Coochbehar – NJP/ Bagdogra. (drive about 05hrs.)

Morning after breakfast transfer to NJP/Bagdogra for board your train / flight to next destination.
