DELHI – SRINAGAR – LADAKH – DELHI
BEST TIME : MID MAY TO SEPTEMBER
Day 01: Arrive Delhi (check-in 1200 noon)
Arrive Delhi and sightseeing, visitng OLD DELHI - Red Fort, Jama Masjid, Gandhi Samadhi.
Dinner at local restaurant (Chineese).
Overnight at Delhi.
Day 02, Delhi – Srinagar fly.
Morning transfer to airport for flight to Srinagar.
Arrive Srinagar and transfer to hotel.
Later visit Mughal Gardens visiting Nishat Baagh (Abode of pleasure) built by Asif Khan brother in law of Jehangir in 1632 AD. And Shalimar Bagh (Abode of Love) built by Jahangir for his wife Empress Noor Jehan. All the gardens are situated on the bank of the Dal Lake with the Zabarwan Mountains in the background. O/n Srinagar
Day 03, Srinagar – visit to Gulmarg.
Gulmarg (Meadow of Gold) was discovered as a tourist destination by the British in the 19th Century. It also has one of the world’s highest green golf courses with 18 holes. Later drive back to Srinagar. Overnight at Houseboat / hotel
Day 04, Srinagar – visit to Pahalgam.
Morning after breakfast, full day excursion to Pahalgam (Valley of Shepherds.) En-route visiting Saffron fields, Awantipura ruins (1100years old temple of Lord Vishnu built by King Awantiwareman), see the beautiful countryside on the way and lot of rice fields, Drive through the pine forest. Later drive back to Srinagar
Day 05, Srinagar – Kargil drive
Morning after breakfast drive to KARGIL (2745 M) via SONAMARG ‘meadows of gold’ & over crossing the picturesque Zojila (3540 M). Arrive Kargil and check-in to hotel for overnight stay in hotel.
Day 06 , Kargil – Alchi drive
After breakfast, we continue our drive to Alchi village (3350 M), over crossing NAMIKA LA (3760 M) and FOTU LA (4147 M). En route visit the HUGE ROCK-CUT STATUE at Mulbek village and further drive on to visit LAMAYURU monastery – famous as the oldest monastery in Ladakh. The landscape around Lamayuru is very spectacular as it look quite like a moonscape. Just after a short drive from Lamayuru we will hit the Indus river and continue drive to Alchi village for overnight stay. If time permits go for a stroll around the pretty village of Alchi. Overnight in hotel.
Day 07, Alchi - Leh drive.
After a leisure breakfast at hotel, walking tour of ALCHI CHOSKOR (Religious Enclave / group of ancient Buddhist temple), these temples are about 1000 year old and are famous for the wall paintings, woodcarving and stucco art. After the tour we board the Jeeps and continue drive to Leh, en route visit the huge open Buddha statue at LIKIR monastery. Arrive Leh and check-in to hotel.
Day 8, Leh.
Morning sightseeing of Leh town visiting STOK PALACE museum and His Holiness DALAI LAMA residence. Back to hotel for lunch. In the afternoon visit SHANTI STUPA, the imposing LEH PALACE overlooking the Leh town. And spend some time to explore around the LEH BAZAAR and its back streets. Overnight in hotel.
Day 9, Indus valley sightseeing.
Today we will be proceeding for a full day excursion trip to Indus valley visiting the prominent monasteries like THIKSE and HEMIS and SHEY PALACE. The Indus valley is the most greenish and fertile land in the whole Ladakh as the Indus river follows right through the middle of the valley. We will also enjoy the picnic lunch provided by our hotel. Retrace to hotel for overnight.
Day 10, Leh – Delhi fly. Early morning transfer to KBR airport Leh to board flight to Delhi. Arrive and visit New Delhi - Birla Temple (Lakshmi Narayan Temple), India Gate, Parliament Street, NATIONAL MUSEUM, Humayun Tomb, Qutub Minar.
Later after DINNER at local restaurant (Chineese)
Evening transfer to airport to board your flight to your home country.
